Aura colors: meaning and interpretation

Warren Shanti

After my tips for seeing and feeling the aura, here is how to interpret the different aura colors when they dominate. I didn’t invent any of this: you’ll find these correspondences in books, on specialized sites, or from people more competent than me. And don’t forget that nothing replaces your own intuition.

The essentials

  • The dominant color of the aura depends on the most active chakras.
  • A clear and bright color expresses its positive aspects, while a dull or “dirty” color expresses its negative aspects.
  • Green is the color of the heart and healing, blue is the color of intuition, and purple is the color of spiritual evolution.
  • These correspondences are benchmarks: your intuition remains the best guide.

Meaning of aura colors

White

A synthesis of all colors, white indicates complete integration and union with the divine. It is the color of Christ consciousness and spiritual perfection, found only in those who have reached enlightenment.

Red

Clear and bright, it represents energy, warmth, generosity, vitality, and passion. In its negative aspects: nervousness, revolt, anger, malice, hatred, impatience.

Orange

Clear and bright, orange indicates energy and vitality. If it leans toward red, it expresses egocentrism instead.

Yellow

The color of intellect, cheerfulness, and enthusiasm. Brighter, close to gold, it indicates a very high spirituality. A dirty yellow, on the other hand, reflects a need for recognition, cunning, greed, and selfishness.

Green

The color of balance, harmony, and the heart. Emerald green, clear and bright, is the color of healing: a lot of green in the aura indicates an interest in and capacity for healing. Light green expresses peace and an affinity with nature.

Blue

The color of intuition. In its highest form, it is linked to the third eye, inspiration, and higher intellect. It is one of the first colors a spiritual healer perceives.

Purple

People who have purple in their aura are the most advanced in their spiritual evolution: it is a sign of great inner transformation and good vitality. It first appears above the head, around the crown chakra, then radiates throughout the aura as the person evolves.

Pink

Tenderness, sweetness, friendship, complicity. A dirty pink indicates superficiality instead.

Gray, brown, and black

  • Gray: Depression, boredom, poorly experienced solitude.
  • Brown: bad tendencies, heavy negative thoughts.
  • Black: unhealthy energy.

Frequently asked questions

What determines the color of the aura?

It’s the most active chakras at any given time. For example, a very open heart chakra gives a predominantly green aura. To understand the principle, read what is the aura?

Can the color of the aura change?

Yes. We all have chakras that are more active than others at different times, and the dominant color of the aura evolves with them.

Have you ever perceived any of these colors in your aura or someone else’s? I can’t wait to read your comments.
