Immersive Handpan Workshops
& Retreats
for Personal and Spiritual
Development

A few days to slow down, breathe,
discover the handpan, rediscover yourself,
play, and reconnect with your essence.
More than just workshops,
unforgettable experiences.

A few days that can transform
much more than your practice

A human adventure above all.

Imagine a few days entirely dedicated to music, sharing, presence, human connections, and self-exploration.

Far from the daily grind, my workshops and retreats invite you to live a deeply human experience, where the handpan becomes a wonderful tool for discovery, expression, and connection. Whether you come to discover the instrument, deepen your practice, recharge, or simply treat yourself to a timeless break, each event is an invitation to slow down, feel, and reconnect with yourself, others, and the present moment.

Online courses are a fantastic resource, but nothing replaces the richness of a group experience. Presence, spontaneous exchanges, shared practices, and collective energy create a unique environment, conducive to awareness, learning, and transformation.

In just a few days, many participants experience breakthroughs that stay with them long after the workshop.

When you fully grant yourself this time, learning, progress, and transformation naturally take root. These immersions offer a privileged space to deepen your practice, find inspiration, cultivate your presence, and more deeply integrate what is experienced. An experience as enriching musically as it is humanly.

Beyond the music, it is often the encounters that leave the most beautiful imprint. Each event brings together people from different backgrounds, united by a shared desire to connect, learn, grow, and live an authentic experience. Friendships are born, projects emerge, and a true community naturally weaves itself through these encounters.

No matter your level or intentions,
join the event that resonates most
with your desires and current needs

Handpan workshop in Ardèche with Warren Shanti and Hangala

Complete
Experiences

Much more than a simple handpan workshop.
The balance between learning, human connections,
and self-expression.

Much more than simple lessons, my workshops are true musical immersions where each day nourishes technique as much as creativity, listening, and presence. Through guided explorations, musical games, collective practices, and improvisation moments, you will progressively develop a freer, more fluid, and more personal playing style.

Here, there is no competition or performance goal. The essential thing is to experiment, to feel, and to learn to trust your intuition. My approach favors direct experience so that each participant reveals their own sensitivity and discovers an authentic way to express themselves through the handpan.

The “Soul Sanctuary” Retreat
Harmony · Emotion · Transformation.

Soul Sanctuary is a seven-day immersion in the heart of preserved nature, designed to offer you a true return to your essence. The handpan, provided to each participant, becomes a tool for presence, self-expression, and inner peace.

Around it, we invite you to explore a palette of other practices fostering self-reconnection: meditation, mindfulness, guided introspection, breathwork, workshops on stress and hypersensitivity, sound and shamanic journeys, exploration of archetypes, ceremonies, and energetic & shamanic practices.

A deeply human experience to slow down, regain your balance, and allow what naturally seeks to express itself within you to emerge.

Accessible to all
levels

From beginner to experienced,
even without any prior experience,
you will naturally find your place

Whether you are a complete beginner or already have experience, our events are designed to welcome everyone exactly where they are. No prerequisites are necessary to participate in our beginner workshops or the Soul Sanctuary retreat, while intermediate workshops allow you to deepen your handpan practice, enrich your musicality, and further develop your creativity, to better express your emotions.

Whatever event you choose, you will join a group composed of people from varied backgrounds, of all ages, and with very different journeys. This diversity is an integral part of the richness of the experience.

Everyone brings their sensitivity, their story, and their unique way of experiencing music, sharing, and self-discovery.

Our approach is progressive, benevolent, and adaptable to the needs of both the group and each participant. Here, there is no comparison or pressure, only a space where everyone is free to evolve at their own pace. What matters most is not your level, but your desire to fully live the experience, to learn, to share, and to grow.

Together, we create an environment where differences become a true asset, serving encounter, creativity, and transformation.

Handpan Workshops

Beginner level

Yes, absolutely. Beginner workshops are specially designed for people discovering the handpan, including those who have never played music before. No technical or theoretical prerequisites are necessary.

No. The handpan is a particularly accessible instrument that allows you to enjoy it from the very first moments, without any knowledge of music theory. Our approach to teaching and practicing the handpan is not based on learning traditional music theory. We favor a simple and accessible pedagogy for everyone, intuitive and concrete, based on the use of visual and numerical cues to identify notes, the acquisition of solid rhythmic foundations, the development of listening, and a natural understanding of harmony. The goal is to allow you to play, feel, and understand music in a lively and accessible way, without getting lost in complex theoretical notions.

No. A handpan is lent to each participant for the duration of the workshop. But if you own your own handpan, we recommend bringing it with you.
Note that we also offer handpans for sale during our workshops, to guide you towards a quality instrument.

Initiation workshops notably allow you to discover:

  • The functioning and history of the handpan
  • Good posture and breathing
  • Striking techniques and different sounds
  • The basics of rhythm and harmony
  • The expression of emotions through music
  • Playing in duos or groups
  • The first notions of composition
  • How to choose your future handpan and avoid bad surprises when buying

Yes. The atmosphere is based on kindness, listening, and respect for everyone’s pace. It is not about performance but an experience of musical and human exploration.

The workshops welcome adolescents (accompanied) and adults of all ages and backgrounds. The diversity of backgrounds is an integral part of the richness of the experience.

Yes. Even as a complete beginner, you will leave with solid foundations, concrete tools to continue playing, and above all, a new relationship with music and self-expression. You will know how to play the handpan when you leave!

Absolutely. Thanks to our activity around the handpan and our collaborations with several trusted manufacturers, we generally have a stock of handpans available for immediate purchase. We can thus bring different instruments to the workshops so that you can try them and, if you wish, leave directly with the one that suits you.

If none of the available instruments perfectly meet your expectations, we can also assist you in choosing and ordering a handpan from one of our partner manufacturers. We then take the time to guide you according to your level, musical tastes, budget, and objectives, so that you find the instrument best suited to your journey.

We organize our workshops in various locations throughout France, including Ardèche, the Grand Est region, the Paris area, and the West Coast, as well as in several neighboring countries such as Germany, Luxembourg, and Switzerland. In France and beyond, new destinations regularly enrich our program (by the way, feel free to suggest a new location).

Each location is carefully selected to offer an environment conducive to learning, sharing, and immersion in the world of the handpan and self-development. All practical information, specific details of the venues, and available dates can be consulted directly in our event calendar.

Absolutely. Most of our workshops are offered with full board to provide a more immersive, convivial, and rejuvenating experience. Depending on the location, this option may be optional or mandatory.

The cost of accommodation and meals is always separate from the workshop fee paid on my site. All details are specified on the detailed page for each event.

Handpan Workshops

Intermediate level

Intermediate workshops are for people who already have the basics of handpan and wish to deepen their practice. It is not necessary to be an experienced musician, but prior experience with the instrument is recommended. If you have any doubts, contact me and I can guide you to the workshop best suited to your level.

Intermediate workshops allow you to go further in:

  • Playing fluidity
  • Developing groove and rhythm
  • Complete improvisation
  • Musical harmony
  • Composing melodies with meaningful structure
  • Emotional expression through playing
  • Developing your own musical identity
  • A workshop dedicated to audio and video recording: discover the equipment, settings, and best practices to showcase your music and share your creations with excellent sound and image quality

Yes. Many participants have learned on their own and wish to structure their knowledge, correct certain habits, or discover new approaches.

No. The pedagogical approach is based on individual evolution. Everyone progresses at their own pace, with their own objectives and musical journey.

Yes, of course, we recommend you bring your own instrument. Handpans can also be made available during group practice sessions, so that we can all play in the same scale (D Kurd 10 notes) and fully enjoy the collective exercises.

During personal exploration times, it will however be very interesting to start applying the teachings, tools, and concepts discussed to your own instrument, even if it is tuned in a different scale.

We will also be available to support you individually during these moments and answer your questions to help you adapt the learnings to your handpan and your musical universe.

Yes. Beyond technique, essential importance is given to listening, intention, self-expression, and connection to one’s feelings.

The goal is not only to learn to play the handpan, but also to develop one’s musical sensitivity and ability to translate emotions into music.

We explore together the resources already present in each of us so that, once combined with the technical tools transmitted during the workshop, they allow you to authentically express what you carry within you and transform it into melodies that reflect you.

Yes. Group playing, mutual listening, musical exchanges, and collaborative experiences are an integral part of the experience.

Experiences that leave a mark

“A human experience above all.”

It's often the participants who describe it best.

Our workshops are often described as experiences difficult to explain in words. Between the encounters, the music, the emotions, and the insights, everyone experiences something different.

Of course, participants progress in their handpan practice. But what comes up most often in their feedback concerns the quality of the encounters, the group atmosphere, and the depth of the exchanges experienced during these few days. An experience that often continues to resonate long after returning home.

Each person arrives with their expectations, questions, and story. Yet, many leave with something they hadn’t imagined finding: more confidence, freedom, presence, or simply the feeling of having lived a deeply human experience.

Over the years, a true community has formed around our events and continues to grow. Many participants return regularly, meet friends from previous workshops, and continue to share their passion far beyond the event itself. A collective adventure that continues to grow.

Here are some testimonials from those who have participated in previous workshops & retreats,
offering a sincere glimpse into what can emerge when one takes the time to fully immerse themselves in this adventure.
May 2026Intermediate workshop

I’ve just had an amazing musical and friendly experience during my first intermediate workshop with Warren and Isabelle in Bioncourt.

Warren and Isabelle complement each other perfectly in sharing their passion for this beautiful instrument, with joy and good vibes. The workshop is very intense and rich. Everyone can take what they need depending on their level.
Between the teaching sessions, the jams, the time exploring the instruments, the moments of connection and sharing… and everything else ;), I experienced a weekend out of time.

A huge thank you, and see you very soon for more adventures together, I hope.

December 2025Beginner workshop

A huge thank you!

The handpan was for me this mysterious instrument, but so beautiful to listen to. Without hesitation, I signed up for the 2-day workshop and there… what a discovery! Thanks to Warren’s knowledge and that of his beloved Isabelle, the handpan becomes accessible, even for people who have never touched music.

They are kind, patient, attentive people, but above all with a great sense of humor, and they give advice on the instrument… Everything is there. I came out of this weekend enriched, at peace, and above all determined to progress. The foundations are there, now it’s just a matter of applying them.

And thanks to this workshop, wonderful connections were formed. A weekend I will never forget 🥰

Don’t change, you are beautiful people. Thank you for everything 🙏🏼

October 2025Beginner workshop

I did the beginner Handpan Retreat in October with Warren and Isabelle, and it was a truly timeless weekend!!
An incredible experience; the group energy was gentle and kind, and the atmosphere was full of good vibes from start to finish.

Warren and Isabelle’s teaching method is great: you progress quickly while still having fun and being creative. They know how to simplify the learning process, which makes for quick and effective understanding. Everything contributes to a real moment of disconnection; even the Moulin d’Ozon site is stunningly incredible and perfectly suited for it.

I came away full of inspiration and with a solid foundation for playing my handpan at home, and I’m already looking forward to the next Intermediate Workshop!!

A huge thank you to Warren and Isabelle for this magical moment, I recommend it 100%

May 2026Intermediate Workshop

I took part in Isabelle and Warren’s Intermediate level Workshop and I recommend it 1,000%!

All the exercises are sent via video afterwards, which allows you to keep practicing everything covered during the weekend. 👌

It’s more than just a Workshop; it’s a complete experience that combines learning, of course, but also humor and a caring atmosphere. Topped off with a little private concert!

You learn so much and leave with your heart and soul full of emotions and melodies.
And above all, we had a great laugh! 😂

A big thank you to both of you! 🙏😍

June 2026Beginner workshop

I’ve just returned from a Handpan Introduction Weekend with Warren: 2 magical days.

Warren gently guides us towards discovering this instrument and so much more.
He shares with us Love, joy, vibrancy, humor, generosity; he invites us, helps us connect with the Handpan, with our emotions.

Warren radiates an energy of Love and kindness that he shares unstintingly, encouraging us and guiding us towards greater confidence.
A moment suspended in time, filled with beautiful vibrations, exchanges, sharing, and wonderful encounters in a warm setting.

Thank you, Warren.
Eager to continue this journey.

October 2025Soul Sanctuary

Soul Sanctuary 2025 was one of the best retreats I’ve attended, even though I also run my own. But it was on another level.

I arrived at Domaine du Taillé a day early so I could settle in before the retreat, with questions about work—since I’d been laid off—as well as about my relationship, and above all about myself.

The moment I entered the estate, I felt like I was at home, in a magical place.

I hadn’t come with any expectations. I especially didn’t expect to feel safe so quickly.

Warren was the first to speak to us with kindness toward each and every one of us, like an ancient wise man, and without judgment.

What struck me was Isabelle’s energy—“the love elf”—which swept me up. She was incredibly gentle and listened to everyone, even though she had the extra challenge of understanding. She and we needed a translator.

Warren and two participants acted as interpreters.

A sense of calm started to settle in my mind, and then, as the days went by, it spread through my body.

The silent morning walk was a real treat. Well, on the first day, I’ll admit two of us were a bit distracted 😋.

The workshops led by Isabelle built up gradually.

I learned about myself that I’m on the defensive and that I struggle to let my heart open up in emotions.

As usual, I went at my own pace. I thought I was hopeless. But actually, we’re all here to learn.

The handpan is a wonderful tool, but I have to admit it wasn’t easy for me. You have to be as light as a feather, and I’m more the 🦍 type. We had a good laugh about it, didn’t we, Jennifer 🦒? But at the same time, I was sad and frustrated that I couldn’t do it.

I’m still a bit of a silverback, which makes me laugh.

During this retreat, I met beautiful souls, wonderful people.

I’m very happy to have met them, even if only for a moment, and I hope I can see them again at the next Soul Sanctuary workshop in 2026.

3rd workshop with Warren and 2nd with Isabelle ☺️
A very enriching workshop, both in terms of learning and human connection.

May 2026Intermediate workshop

This weekend I attended a dream workshop with Warren and Isabelle. Intermediate workshop in Nancy. Amazing workshop, incredible atmosphere.
I highly recommend this workshop both for the human connection and for improving your handpan skills.
Warren shows us and has us work on many things to help us progress, to develop our musical creativity….

Honestly, go for it—it’s pure joy 😍

March 2026Intermediate workshop

I took part in the handpan workshop in Givet (intermediate level) with Warren and Isabelle, and it was a wonderful experience.

The guidance is both professional, caring, and accessible, whatever your level. Warren and Isabelle take the time to explain, correct, and above all help everyone feel confident, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

The workshop is very well structured, with a great balance between technique, listening, rhythm, and the joy of playing. You progress naturally, without pressure, while developing your musical sensitivity.

Beyond learning, it’s also a real moment of sharing and some great connections around the handpan.
I highly recommend this workshop to anyone who wants to discover or deepen their practice of this instrument in a warm and inspiring setting.

September 2024Beginner workshop

If you’re looking for an immersive experience in the world of handpan in a magical setting, look no further!

This workshop at Moulin d’Ozon in Ardèche with Warren and Isabelle is an absolutely unforgettable experience.
Moulin d’Ozon is a timeless place, nestled in the Ardèche countryside. The calm, the sound of water, and the warm atmosphere of the location immerse us in a haven of peace.

Warren and Isabelle, passionate and caring, share their love of the instrument with contagious energy.
This is not just a handpan workshop, it’s a true wellness retreat. Impeccable organization, delicious meals, and an incredibly positive and enriching group atmosphere.

A huge thank you to Warren and Isabelle for their generosity, their patience, and sharing their art.
I recommend this workshop wholeheartedly to anyone who wants to discover the handpan.

November 2025Beginner workshop

It’s impossible to sum up all the magic of your Warren workshop in just a few lines.
You’re an incredible teacher, and you gave us your deepest sincerity by opening, with honesty and humility, the doors to your heart through your many compositions.

The workshop is paced with lots of group exercises as well as individual ones. The learning is intense but completely accessible to everyone, so you can get the essential foundations thanks to your clear explanations and your listening.

Thank you again for the wonderful person you are! And a big thank you as well for the beautiful sound journey you gave us on Saturday evening!
I really want to join another workshop next time!

For handpan lovers, I wholeheartedly recommend it!

What if your next
journey started here?

A few days can sometimes open new perspectives. An encounter with the handpan, but also with yourself.

Offer yourself a break of music, creativity, and presence,
and discover what happens when you truly take the time to listen,
to feel, and to share.

Each workshop or retreat is an invitation to slow down, explore, and reconnect with what truly matters. If something already resonates within you as you read these lines, it may be time to take the plunge and experience it for yourself.

Imagine a few days where the only priorities would be to play, learn, discover, share, and fully enjoy the present moment. This is precisely what we create together during each workshop and retreat.

Whether you come to progress musically, meet other enthusiasts, or simply take a break from your daily life, you will find an event capable of meeting your current needs.

The handpan is a wonderful pretext for deeply human experiences. If you feel the call of music, creativity, and connection, we will be happy to welcome you to an upcoming event.
